Grocery Day

Monday is grocery day.

I wake up, throw on some clothes, give the kids a glass of milk and hit the road at 7:45 am in the morning.

I know. Crazy.

But see, I like to go to a store before they get really busy and congested so I would rather go when no one else is there and not freak if my kids have a melt down. Plus I get out of there so much faster when I don't have to wait in line at the deli or meat counter.

Another plus, all of the employees know me. It totally works to my advantage. Sometimes a free cup of coffee, bananas for the kids, a little extra salmon thrown in with my order. Or they will "oops" miss label my meat for something cheaper.

I also shop at the "expensive" store. But I will tell you, I have done my weekly shopping many other places and I spend just as much if not more. I get almost all fresh food so I can rarely use a coupon anyways. I know the system here, and can work it.

See that milk? Moo Mondays - 1 1/2 gallons of Organic milk for $5 no coupon needed.
The pork I bought, came with a free container of freshly made guac that I used for another recipe.
Sometimes they practically give me an entire meal for buying one thing I already had to get.

I only go to the store once a week because that's about all I can handle.

This is what my counter looks like.
That fruit lasted 3 days, I had Patrick make a quick run for more when he went to buy beer.

Veggie drawer. It's actually kinda empty.

I take everything out of the bags and clean the drawer every week. The veggies just seem to keep better that way. I also throw away any random leftovers from the previous week.

And my fridge, yep, I would consider this full.

The top shelf is for Patrick's beer and the bottom empty one usually fills up with leftovers through the week.
